"Comic Popera" receives standing ovation

5 August 2006

We are very excited about the success and our standing ovation from our recent performance of "Comic Popera" as a part of the Merry Melodies Series at 11 am at the Logan Entertainment Centre on Tuesday, August 1.

Thanks must go to Alan Youngson, director of the Logan Entertainment Centre, for his vision and supreme creative talent in helping to make this show a success. In this 90 minute spectacular the audience was serenaded by the supreme talents of Ms Jacqueline Mabardi, Ms Shelli Gilholme and the unforgettable pianist and tenor extraordinnaire, Mr Glenn Amer and a mystery Siren in disguise who appeared out of the audience, Ms Tarita Botsman. There were highlights from opera including Un Bel Di, Sempre Libera, Nessun Dorma as well as well known broadway melodies and disco tunes sung alla Sirens style! ( ie. unforgettable!)

There will be more public performances of this sort, we are in the process of locking in dates and venues so stay tuned, we may be performing at a venue near you very soon!

Here is a testimonial from one of our audience members after the show –
"A thoroughly enjoyable, witty and entertaining performance. An excellent combination of opera and pop music. An outstanding Beatles medley. Beautiful stunning gowns. Once you have attended a performance by Sirens,
you will love opera forever."

Carol Reberger, audience member
