Liza Beamish started her vocal career as a music student at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music majoring in vocals and piano.

Soon after completing her degree she moved to Sydney to study with Australian Opera Baritone Raymond Myers. During this period she performed with a number of companies including Opera Ensemble and Rockdale Opera Company, and after appearing as a finalist in the Metropolitan opera competition, as well as the Shell aria and the Sun Aria competitions, was offered the understudy of Queen of the Night with Opera Australia.  

Other roles during this time include:
- Musetta (La Boheme)
- Galathea (The Beautiful Galathea)
- Amor (Orfeo ed Euridice)
- Fiona (Brigadoon)
- Margot (Desert Song)
- the title role of Patience (Patience)
- Mabel (Pirates of Penzance)
- Angelina (Trial by Jury)
- Olympia (Tales of Hoffman) and
- Gilda in Rigoletto.   

Liza’s career then took her to London to study with internationally renowned teacher Audrey Langford and to Vienna for further study with Ruthilda Boesch (famous for her work with Coloratura Sopranos).

While in the UK Liza worked with the London Opera Players performing the role of Queen of the Night (The Magic Flute), both in London and on tour in the UK; as well as with the Modern Music Theatre Troupe performing the role of Malinche (La Malinche), and in the Czech Republic performing the role of Zerlina (Don Gionvianni).  She also did many concerts with the"Bottoselli Duo"  in and around London.

Liza BeamishAfter returning from Europe Liza went on to work with Opera Australia, Opera Queensland, and Oz Opera (Opera Australia’s touring company) being cast in such roles as:

- Queen of the Night,
- Titania (Midsummer Night’s Dream),
- Adele (Die Fledermaus),
- First Flower Maiden (Parsifal);

And later taking on an eighteen month contract with Phantom of the Opera (the Rob Guest/Marina Prior production) during which time she performed the major role of Carlotta.

She also appeared as a guest soloist in many concerts including
- The Tasmanian Music Festival; 
- New Years Eve concerts (QPAC); 
- Starlight Foundation dinners ( Sydney Sheraton ballroom);
- and many concerts on the Sydney Opera House stage (for Opera Australia); 
- As well as a nationally televised Australia Day concert at Darling Harbour.

Last year, after taking time out for family, Liza returned once more to the stage, performing concerts and shows in the Tweed/ Gold Coast/Brisbane region.  In the past year she has appeared often as a guest artist with:

- Northern Rivers Symphony Orchestra;
- Gold Coast Philharmonic orchestra; and  performed in the
- Brisbane Convention Centre;
- QPAC;
- Gold Coast Arts Centre;
- Sheraton Ball Room;
- St John's Cathedral Brisbane;
- Riverside Building Brisbane;
- Logan Entertainment Centre;    and at many
- clubs and private functions including:  Seagulls; Tweed Heads Bowls Club;  Coolangatta Tweed Heads Golf Club;  Club Banora;  South Tweed Heads Sport and Recreation Club;  and many other venues.
